Frequently asked questions
How do I split a payslip PDF into one file per employee?
Choose "New document at each page containing" and type a text printed at the top of every payslip, such as "Payslip". For the file name, enter the label that comes before the employee name, such as "Name" or "Employee". The preview lists every file before you download.
Can I rename PDFs from an Excel list?
Yes. Drop the PDFs, then an Excel or CSV file with the current name in column A and the new name in column B. The new name can also be read from the first page of each PDF, after a label or with a regular expression.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Splitting by content reads the PDF text layer, so a scan without text cannot be split that way. Use "Every N pages" instead, or run the file through OCR first.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The PDFs are read and rewritten by your browser; no file and no text is sent to a server, which is why it suits payslips and HR documents. You get the files in a ZIP.
What does it cost?
Downloads are free up to 20 pages to split or 5 files to rename. Beyond that, $4.99 unlocks the tool for 24 hours or
